Swati Pandey’23 was born and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal, Swati has always been fascinated with science, culture, and their influence on each other. She believes leadership to be a skill that “can be worked on”, and “should be worked on”.  Swati is currently a junior pursuing a B.S in Biology. In the future, she plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Biology and join academia. In the past three years, Swati has worked on several leadership roles on campus as a Resident Advisor (RA), Dean’s Ambassador, member of the Lafayette Student Government, peer educator for PASA, and Teaching Assistant (TA). During her spare time, she enjoys writing, exercising, watching travel vlogs, and learning to play the ukulele. Swati is excited to join the program as an intern and continue to work on the vision of her predecessors. She is looking forward to enhancing her leadership skills while embarking on this journey with a committee that is passionate about expanding leadership education on campus. “Leadership, like any other skill, requires a commitment to persevere and the diligence to learn from our mistakes. It’s like learning to play the ukulele- I cannot play the E chord well right now, but with practice, my fingers will find their way to the frets.”
